The letterhead is from:
"Office of the United States Surveyor General
Montana Helena."

The bottom of the letterhead reads, "Masters, LithoStone, Syracuse, N. Y."

Dated May 26th 1875. The text reads:
"Sirs,
We have not made arrangements yet for getting our supplies.

If we can do as well with you we would prefer it on account of saving the transportation from here

We send you a list of what we shall need and if you will send us your prices you can rely on our not showing them to anyone

We shall want about 425 lbs beans 110 lbs dryed peaches 150 lbs dryed apples 75 lbs salt 110 lbs coffee 200 lbs corn meal 9 lbs tea 900 lbs bacon 325 lbs sugar 40 lbs soap 25 galls syrup 110 lbs rice 100lbs [hominy?] 8 doz yeast powders &c

Can we get an A tent at the fort

We have made arrangements for takeing [sic] barrels from here

Wm. McFarland told us you were in town yesterday but not until it was too late to see you

Yours &c Kellogg & Boswell [?]
