The letterhead is from:
"Office of County Commissioners,
Custer County, M. T.
Miles City, Montana".

Dated March 20th 1884. The letter reads:
"J. P. Woolman Esq
Terr Auditor
Helena Mont.
Dear Sir:
Yours 19th inst duly received, Enclosed herewith please find statement of amounts collected and disbursed by the Treasurer of Custer County of the funds of the Territory, for the quarter ending February 29th 1884. We understand and appreciate the inconvenience to which you are subjected by our delay in sending these statements, would say, that in this instance the Board had so much business before them, that they did not have time to examine this statement before the four days allowed by law had expired, hence, the Board laid the same over for their consideration at an Extra
[Page 2] Session. We have often urged the necessity of examining these statements on the first days session of the Board and will place your letter before the Board and we will endeavor to have these matters more closely attended to in the future.
