White Sulphur Springs. N. B. Smith was the County Attorney.
Dated March 29 1888. The letter reads:
"E. W. Knight Cashier
Helena M. T.
Dear Sir:
I understand that you have a note of J. T. McClintocks against G. A. Hampton. I have written J. T. McClintock but he does not answer my letter. If you will send the note to me or the Bank of this place the same will be paid all but $3200, which Mr McClintocks owes Mr Hampton for board. When the note comes Mr Hampton has made arrangements to pay the same with interest less the $3200 Mr McClintock acknowledges the counterclaim to be correct as [?] informed by Hampton
Please attend to this matter at once
