There is no letterhead. These notes are:
"Expenses in carrying
Emma Swarts [sic] from Butte City
to Danville Ky".

For some reason, Emma Swartz needed to be escorted to Danville, Ky. in March of 1888. The costs totaled $316.95 for dispatches, transportation (train, bus, hack), food (presumably this is what the item listed as Dieting means) and hotel, and $40.00 for the services of the escort over the ten day period.

Dated Aug 27/88. The escort, A. F. M___, turned this itemization in for reimbursement. The list was notarized by F. W. McConnell, clerk 1st Judicial District Court, Montana Territory. Notable is the seal for the "U. S. First Judicial District Court, Montana Territory".
