The letterhead is from:
"J. Neils Lumber Company
Manufacturers
Western White Pine and Larch
Libby, Montana"
In the upper right hand corner are the words "Shaw & Borden Co. Spokane"
Dated Nov. 3 1920. The letter seems to be a personal note regarding an election. It reads in full:
"Mr C. W. Pomeroy,
Kalispell, Montana.
Dear Sir:
I wired you this morning as follows: 'Libby three precincts Pomeroy 253, Maiden 323.' This vote in the precincts was as follows:
Precinct 16, West Libby, Pomeroy 61, Maiden 91 " 17 East Libby " 62 " 111 " 18 South " " 130 121
Precinct 18 is Maiden's and is the largest in the county. The only reason I can figure for the difference in 16 and 17 is the vigorous campaign put on by a few of the 'old timers' such as Herman Bockman for a home vote for Maiden.
I hope to hear that you are running strong in Flathead, and that this lead of 70 in Libby for Maiden will be off-set by other Lincoln County points. Yours very truly, R. R. Veldman."
Then after the signature, a postscript reads, "Stevens did not seem to be running here - noticed only a few votes for him V." The letter is stamped "Nov 4- Ans'd".
