Dated May 2nd 1888. This is a letter of complaint regarding an order. It reads in part:
"You have charged $20.00 too much on the car wheels. Also will you look up my order for the washers on same bill and see whether I ordered them 1/8 or 5/8 thick as you sent them....Your prices are way above Butte. For instance Thompson bought a flue expander there for $10.00 and you asked $17.00 for same article. Don't try to bleed us to [sic] much or we shall shift to Butte. Yours as ever S. F. Loberg[?]". At the bottom of the letter he asks them to "Send us 1 doz best shovels".
