The letterhead reads:
"Montana and Bay State Mining Co.
Saint Louis,
Jefferson County, Montana.
J. Sherburne,
General Manager."

Dated June 4 1892. This letter is notification to A. M. Holter Hardware Co. that part of an order for materials has been received. Mr. Sherburne asks that the remainder of the order, consisting of lubricating oil, cylinder oil, pipe, and asbestos packing, be rushed to him. He additionally orders some rope preservative and '2-½" unions'. Stamped "A. M. Holter H'D'W Co" on June 8 1892.
