The letterhead is from:
"Office of the Celebrated Lewis Coal Mine,
F. Lewis, Proprietor and Manager.
Belt, Montana,
Our coal is the Best for any purpose produced in Montana. We are prepared to furnish it in large or small quantities at reasonable figures. This coal has been thoroughly tested for cooking and found equal to any other in the West. It is superior to all other for domestic use. Give it a trial."

"We have a few choice lots for sale in the Lewis addition to Belt. The very best location for business or residence in the town. This addition is five minutes walk from the Great Northern Railway depot, the centre of the mining district. Write for prices and terms."

Dated Jan 28 1898. The letter is an order for one barrel of whiskey to be shipped "as early as possible."

The whiskey was to be shipped by "Mess Baleman [sic] & Switzer, Great Falls, Mont"
