1940

The letterhead is from:
"The Sherburne Mercantile Co.
Browning, Montana.
J. H. Sherburne,
President and General Manager
J. L. Sherburne,
Secretary-Treasurer
F. P. Sherburne,
Vice President"

Dated December 31, 1940. The letter is a response to a request from a retailer for a certain type of bead used for Indian decorative wear. Mr. George West Wolf wanted to buy beads from Buck Commercial Company of Stevensville, MT. The supplier, located in Browning, MT, still probably the largest city on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation, suggested that George might need cut seed beads, which cost 25 cents for eighty strands.
