Dated March 19th 1892. This is a personal letter to Mr Chas W. Pomeroy of Great Falls Mont from Wm. C. Bryant. The letter reads:
"Dear Friend; I noticed an advertisement in last evening's Inter Mountain [newspaper] for an architectural draftsman wanted by Hugh G Jones, Box 175, Great Falls and intend to answer it. Do you know this man and about the class of work he is doing or the amount of it he has. In my last letter I spoke of the young man who came to Great Falls for Bertrand& Keith-. Do you know whether this is the same one.
I will refer him to you in my letter to him concerning the advantages I have had &c.
Of course as to my competency you would not care to make any statements. I shall get references from a couple of the Butte Architects whom I have helped on work when they were rushed
I intend to find out what inducement he offers and the chances of forming a partnership

[2nd page] L.W.P. - with him if both sides find it agreeable. If there is promise of anything worth while for me in it, I may become a permanent resident of Great Falls. Nothing would please me better than to have it turn out so.
Affairs are rather quiet here - there will be some building. I will figure on a job for a 5 story building, Monday, which will be commenced soon. Besides a few other small buildings that is the only thing I know of that is sure.
What do you think of the chances for free coinage? We shall soon know. If it passes Butte will see plenty of business. Although it may be a good thing for mining localities, I doubt whether it will be the best for the general country, or that it will be permanent good for even those districts. Awaiting your reply in regard to Mr. Jones. hoping all will be propitious
I am truly your friend
Wm. C. Bryant"
A postscript at the top of the first page of the letter reads "Later: - Yours of the 17th recd. & noted. How old a man is Jones? Should judge he is rather [?] bigoted. Have written him."
