Dated 'No 15" (sic) 1884'. This letter to Mr. E. W. Knight of Helena was sent by G. H. McGeer of Townsend, Montana Territory.

The text reads:
"Enclosed please find Note for Fifteen Hundred Seventy Six and 87/100 Dollars also check for Fourteen Hundred forty & 20/100 Dollars in favor of Simmonds Hardware Co. Saint Louis M. O. Please send exchange for above amt [amount]."
