Civilian Conservation Corps in Montana - 75th Anniversary
Thursday, August 5, 7:00 PM, Building T-316.
Join us as we commemorate the 75th anniversary of the CCC at the Corps' Fort Missoula District Headquarters Building. Former Corpsman Bernard Claus will discuss his time on projects in Idaho and Eastern Montana, and certificates of appreciation will be awarded to all attending former CCC men (to register, call the Museum at 549-5346 or email info@fortmissoula.org.) Stan Cohen, author of the CCC history The Tree Army, will also be on hand to discuss the Corps' impact nationally and locally.

Rocky Mountain Museum of Military History and Historical Museum at Fort Missoula present Stories in Stones III, an afternoon of living history and presentations about the soldiers and others buried at the Post Cemetery.

Memorial Day Weekend Commemoration. To mark the opening of the Civil War Sesquicentennial, the RMMMH will be presenting Certificates of Commemoration to all applying descendents of Union and Confederate Civil War veterans. To register for the program or to request that a certificate be mailed, please call 406-549-5346 or email info@fortmissoula.org with the veteran's name, rank and regiment if possible. Program to be announced; refreshments.

Steve Black, Superintendent of Big Hole National Battlefield, Montana and former Chief Ranger of Pea Ridge National Battlefield, Arkansas will discuss the Civil War's operations in the American West. The talk will encompass battles and campaigns in Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas, Texas and New Mexico.
